Some moments don’t announce themselves as beginnings when they happen.
They feel small, almost casual, until you look back and realize everything traces back to that exact point.
April 9, 2021 was one of those moments.
This was my very first unboxing for an Anna Griffin Create Crop at Home event. At the time, I didn’t know this box would become symbolic. I didn’t know it would represent the start of a rhythm, a community, or a creative chapter that would continue unfolding for years. I only knew I was excited, curious, and ready to open something new, both literally and creatively.
This wasn’t polished. It wasn’t scripted. It was honest.
Opening the Box, Opening the Door
There is something sacred about opening a box for the first time.
The sound of tissue paper.
The careful lifting of layers.
The pause before touching something beautiful.
This unboxing wasn’t just about supplies. It was about permission. Permission to show up as I was, to learn in real time, and to let creativity be something shared rather than perfected in private.
Looking back now, I see this moment as the beginning of trusting the process. Trusting that showing up mattered more than knowing exactly where it would lead.
Why This Moment Still Matters
This box became more than packaging.
It became a reminder that creativity often starts with curiosity. You don’t need to know how every piece will be used. You don’t need a finished plan. You only need the willingness to open the box and begin.
So many of the conversations, projects, and connections that followed can be traced back to this moment. This was the spark.
